The smile held, but Jackie didn't join in. She just turned back to the window.

Blackie turned to Eve, and gave her a look, and then nodded his head towards Jackie.

Eve moved forward slowly. She wasn't exactly a mother, nor had she ever been, this was very new to her.
"Hey," she said quietly, sitting down beside Jackie. Then of course, maybe all Jackie needed was a friend.

Jackie leaned against her. "Why does life have to be so hard?" She asked softly.

Eve thought about it for a second. "Because I know that I, for one, would be really bored if nothing ever happened. But trust me when I say, killing my father, and watching my mother die, were not two of my favorite things to see," she whispered.

"Not long ago, I would've heard you say that ad asked how they died, insensitivly. I would've done just to see if I could find a new way of killing people. I've watched people too many times to count. And I killed all but two of them. The one you killed, and the closest thing I've ever had to a mother, blackened by fire and slipping away from me. I couldn't do anything. I've never actually helped anyone. I feel so useless. I feel like a nothing. Only two sane, likable people alive on this planet can hear my name and not shudder." Jackie tried to smile. "It really makes one feel apreciated," she commented sarcasticly.

"It's time to change that then." Blackie said from the bed.

Eve smiled, though it was strained. "There's no one in my world that can say my name and not flinch," she said quietly.

"That can change" Blackie informed her.

Eve didn't look back up. She shouldn't linger on her past, but it was still all there. It hurt.

Jackie shrugged.
OOC: I'm still waiting for an answer............

OOC: Getting them out of the house and away from the murder scene would be a good start.

OOC: well, yes, but that finishes before it starts. We all post that we left, we all post that were walking away, and boom. It's over. What AFTER that... ?
