PTS: no magic. Please, nobody join 'sept Rob without permission.
Violet slumped to her bed, groaning from the welts on her back. Daddy would work all night again. She didn't get up when she heard someone come in and ask for hospitality, mother would just scold her and it would earn her another beating the next day. 'Like mother ever needed an exuse for beating me...' Vi thought, depressed.
Vi got up silently a few hours after her mother had gone to bed. She couldn't sleep, she barely could these days. Her bruises always just kept multiplying. When she passed the geust as she went to the storage room, barely glancing at the person sleeping on their geust cot. Getting to the storage room, she took down the bruise balm immediatly and rubbed it sparingly on the worst spots. It was mainly for dad's hands, and he wouldn't leave anybody alone untill he found out who took some from it. So, though it barely worked like this, she went to bed feeling slightly better.

Vex lay in the guest cot. The place had a bad feel about it. But it was the only place he could stay.
Something foreboding about the house made him feel a bit closed in, and this stopped him being able to fall asleep.
At some point he heard soft footfalls walk past him, then back again. And guess it must be the couple's child. Probably having the same trouble as him, he though to himself.

Vi caught a few hours sleep, then came down to grab a quick breakfast before running outside. The magority of her time was spent outside nowadays, rain or shine. Plus, mummy never wanted her around if there was a geust. Her bruises would give them a bad name. 'Like it'll take bruises to earn you a bad name' Vi thought. She wanted to catch a glimpse of their geust, but knew she shouldn't be seen. Vi grabbed a piece of bread and peered cautiosly around the corner of the room.

The girl would have seen round the door just in time to see Vex fall over while trying to put on a sock.
He had tripped over a boot, and had landed with his head in his jacket, which had been on the floor.
"Mrrf" Came a muffled groan.

Violet gasped audibly, the man was already up! It was only dawn, after all! Then she heard a muffled noise upstairs. She let out a groan. She should've been off by now. She glanced at the man again, and then ran as fast as she could out the door.

Vex heard the light steps of someone running, but did not see who, because he had a jacket stuffed over his head.
After finishing getting dressed, he headed out of the house himself, to meet with a contact.

Violet was under the branches of a young tree nearby that she and her father had taken from the bordering forest. She was deep in thought, and didn't even notice Vex come out of the house.

Vex spotted the girl sitting under the tree as he walked down the path.
He absently wondered if she was the one he had heard in the house. He also wondered why she looked so unhappy.

OOC: srry about the delay - I got cut off halfway through Violet still didn't notice him, but suddenly she heard someone calling her from the house. It was her mother. Violet didn't answer the calls, she wanted to stay outside right now. "Violet! You've got dishes to do!" The voice was directly in front of her now. Violet still didn't say anything, but tensed in case of a slap. The slap didn't come, just more talk. "If you don't get your butt in there this instant, young lady - I'm warning you!" Now Violet got up. She looked her mother strait in the eye. "In your dreams" she replied cooly. Violet turned and walked away. She didn't even flinch when she felt the pain on her back. Violet turned and said "I'm leaving. I'm not coming back. You're a stupid mother, and I hate you. You can do the dishes yourself. Tell daddy goodbye for me, will you?"
Violet began to walk away again, apparently oblivios to her mother's screams of rage. Vi fell into a run, tears streaming down her face. She ran strait past Vex, still not noticing him.OOC: there. A shorter verson of what it was!!

Vex turned when he heard the screams of rage, and turned just in time to step out of the way of the speeding girl.
He stood dumbly for a second, but then took off after her. His contact could wait a while.

Vi heard footsteps behind her, but they sounded to heavy to be mum's...mebbe it's dad? well, he won't make her go back! she was sure of that. Vi was stronger in the legs than her father, who mainly worked on his arms. Vi could go longer than mum and dad, if only she could stay just ahead of them...

Vex travelled a lot, and had stronger legs than the girls father. She was fast, but his longer stride meant he would probably outlast her.

Vi started to pant, but her parents were still coming! Vi looked over her shoulder, and saw the geust coming! As she was still looking, her foot caught in a small bush. Vi instinctively got into a ball, which probably saved her life as she flew head over heels. The force of her landing knocker her out all the same.

Vex arrived by the side of the girl, and knelt down. The girl was flat on her front, and knocked out.
He sat down and caught his breath, while looking over his shoulder for what had startled the girl so much.

There was a flicker of green eyes but it was soon gone.
Violet's shirt had ripped at the back as she'd fallen. Now welts and bruises could be seen all over it.
