OOC: I'll do it if Rob isn't ;D ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Naias grabbed at what was left of the railing as the ship rocked violently from the impact. Chunks of wood and splinters were raining down as the top half of the mast practically exploded when the last cannon ball hit. Then the ship rocked again as the captain returned fire from their own cannons.

The return shot ripped through the side of the ship, leaving two small holes that a startled cook with a smoking mustache looked out through. Ryoty growled with rage at the sound of the splintering wood. "Right volley, fire!" she screamed. "Helmsmen, keep us circling!" Of the fifteen cannons on the one side of the ship, the far left five fired. Ryoty found herself back by the mages side, and thought out loud (considering he was the only one who could actually see the ship) so that if she was out of position for her next target he would tell her - or so she assumed. She hoped. "We shoud be rounding her port right about now. Left volley! Reload!" The men scrambled. She just had to wait. Once the began round the enemy stern she would fire off her cannons and pepper the keel. There was no way she could miss. Somethign wasn't right. Her ears perked up. Why weren't they returning fire? She tilted her head toward the mage. "Can they hear us?"

He had heard it, he knew he had! Someone else shouting, out there.
"Fire!" He ordered the gunners to his sides. But they just shook their heads. He wasn't their captain. He growled and punched the one on his left, knocking him out. The man on his right was shocked for a second, but tried to grab him.
He was too slow, however, and Darzenth had already grabbed the Gunner's torch, and used it to light the fuse, causing the cannon to fire a split second later.
The other gunners on the port side thought they had missed the order, and fired as well.

Naias scrambled across the deck, shoving paniced passengers out fo the way as she made her way over to the cannons. She looked at one of the few people on board who wasn't panicked as he lit the fuse of one of the guns.
"Need any help?" She asked after the cannon fired, since the captain wasn't doing squat about directing the cannon fire.

They DID hear her! She was ruining their chances of winning this batle with her temper. She mentally kicked herself. The Royal Fortune got lucky though; the waves, choppy at best before had picked up a bit, causing the ship to toss and sway. The cannon balls missed the top decks by yards. One managed to snap a line to the main rigging though. The men yelled to each other and Ryoty put a finger to her lips, shushing them. Within moments there was complete silence on the deck. She bent over next to a sailor and whispered, "Whisper, in each others ear. Pass it on. He did as he was instructed. She checked the snapped line and found Shippo and Dippo, her mast men, already in the process of tying another piece of rope to the spit ends. It wasn't as taut as she liked it, but it brought the problem under control. The were almost to the end of the enemy ships' port side and about to turn round its stern. "Ready all volleys," she murmured, "Pass it on."

Shadrak looked around at all the action. He bit his lip. Missing out on the action?! No way! He grinned and waved his arm. The thunder of cannon shot started slipping from the ship to a spot a shiplength away over the waves. He grinned and crossed his arms, looking smug. A flash of incandescent light lit up the sky, streaking toward the merchant ship. A crack followed instantaneously by thunder echoed from the merchant ship's deck. Shadrak grinned. They didn't stand a chance! They didn't have a mage. He preened silently.

After the sound had dissapated, and men were rushing to put out fires, Darzenth answered.
"Sure, pass me up that canvas bag," he requested as he loaded the cannon.

Naias grabbed the bag he had asked for and handed it to him. Then she stood near the back of the cannon, not directly behind it because that would be stupid with the thing's recoil, with her fingers just over where the fuse would go.
"Just let me know when you want it to fire."

A few second later and the Royal Fortune was rounding the enemy keel. "Left volley," she spoke, "fire." The sound of wood splintering could be heard. "Middle volley, fire." More wood splintering. "Right volley, fire." The boom of the cannons deffened their ears, but didn't stop them from hearing the sound of the keel being taken out. Nothing but splinters, she thought with satisfaction. Now what? She couldn't pull up to the side and board because they still had ammo. But she would really like to get that ammo. You could never have enough after all, not in this business... So how was she goi8ng to get them to sourender withough wasting their ammo and without much of a fight. Yes, that's it. She knew she had the advantage here, and maybe she could keep it with a few magician's tricks... "Mage-" she quickly altered her words, "-Master Shadrak, mayhap you could tell them in no unertain terms that they can surrender or die." It was more a statement then a request, but a request nonetheless. She didn't want to piss of the mage after all.

ooc: WARGH! I be back bic: Shadrak blinked, grinned, and started whispering into his cupped hands. A giant voice boomed out straight over top of the merchant vessel, "SURRENDER NOW AND WE SHALL BE MERCIFUL, REFUSE AND YE SHALL MEET THE KEEPERS OF DAVEY JONE'S LOCKER SHORTLY HEREWITH." Shadrak leaned back, smiling sickly, hoping that they might refuse the mercy of pirates. He did so wish to hear the screaming of doomed men.

Naias looked at the man she was standing near. "You know, I just had a thought." She said out of the blue after the pirate's 'ultimatum'. She grinned ans waved out at the fog. "That ship over there is made of wood isn't it?"

Suibu quirked an eyebrow. Cheesy, she thought dryly, truly cheesy. But it got the point across at least. She did hope they agreed to sourrender though; it'd be a shame to waste a perfectly good ship. Well okay, not perfect, but still! She DID want to start her own fleet some day. Retire maybe, with a grand mansion and a small army of servents with her own well stocked male harem. That wasn't to much to ask for was it? Would Maverick mind? Yes, she answered herself guiltily. But he didn't exactly have to know would he? What he didn't know wouldn'y hurt him righ- "Captain!"

OOC: Oh well, close enough ;D

Naias grinned. "Nevermind, Of course it's made of wood." she said, answering her own question with a giggle. Since that ship was made of wood and other things that burned, she could do something a little more direct about the situation. The only problem is that she had to see the ship and in this fog, that was impossible from here.
That was only a little problem though.
She kicked off the leather boots and took off the heavy winter coat she was wearing. Considering the damp cold, her clothing was too light by most people's standards, but it wasn't going to be a problem for much longer. She grinned once at Darzenth as she climbed up on the railing at the side of the ship. "Here I go!" She said cheerfully and jumped.
Even as her feet left the railing, she shifted into her bat-form. It wasn't by any kind of magic, only an ability gifted her through her mother's line. So what looked like a tropical fruit bat flew off towards the other ship.
