Ari, not really understanding why he suddenly wanted to talk, asked, "So, who are you?"

Darzenth looked back to the man he had come to know as 'the customer'. He fought back a wince as more glass clinked together in the cupboard, and instead leaned against the bar with forced calm. Thinking through a number of replies for a brief moment, he simply settled on, "I'm Darzenth Sephillion."
But that seemed too simple an answer, so with a short pause, he added, "I'm a mercenary 'round these parts."
Though it was hardly necessary to state it, his appearance gave it away adequately. He had never been mistaken for a plumber or librarian. Nobody would dare talk in his library, that's for sure.

OCC: lol, Robin! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ari smiled as the clinking continued. He began wondering how many drinks there could possibly be. "Wow, a mercenary. That must be fun."

"It has its, uh... moments," Darzenth answered. He had just finished a fairly easy job guarding a caravan that was headed to this city. Nothing exciting there... Except maybe that merchant's daughter-
He shook his head to bring his thought's back to the present. Yeah, it has it's moments...

"I'll bet," Ari replied. He glanced longingly at his empty mug. This... ale... it was addictive.

ooc: And at this point saunters in (applause applause, my nuttiest charecter) Laura Blade. I haven't posted a bio of her yet but after this post I'm on my waaay! Quick! To the batmobile!
bic: Laura Blade sauntered into the tavern, bleary eyed and WASTED. Oh, her head hurt! Must... have... alcohol! She bounced off a table that mysteriously jumped in her way and ran into the counter, losing her balence. Laura grabbed the stool for balence and put up a hand forstalling anyone from helping her. She pulled out a chair for what she expertly deemed to be the right amount of room to climb up and sit in and then sat down - on nothing but the air next to her chair and landed with a thump. A few seconds later a hand could be seen hovering over the chair and planting itself firmly on the seat. She slowly and clumsily pulled herself up. "I'm okay," she sniffed, "I'm okay, really, I just need to-" she slipped into the chair, "-okay there we go. Bartender?"

There was a loud thump, like someone hitting their head on a board, from under the bar. A lot more of Kura started to crawl out then seemed physically possible. He grinned and stood up, dusting off his hair as he held out a bottle to the Darzenth guy. "There ya go. Had to look way in the back for it."
Then he turned his attention to the girl. And smiled his most absolutely charming smile. "Hey there sweet cheeks. Can I get you something?"

Laura had to suppress a burp and scrunched her face up. "Bartender! - oh, there you are." She sniffed loudly. "Gimme a uh... Quickie. I need it." she said with fervor.

Kura grinned. "All righty Miss."
He poured another ale for Ari and quickly made up the drink for the cute girl.

Ari ignored the tinny voice in his head that told him not to drink the ale and took a rather large drink.

Darzenth sighed slightly, taking the blue bottle and examining it carefully. He had started to hope the small crowd would allow him to avoid the usual small number of people that just got far too drunk. No such luck.

"...What's a quickie, is it good?" Ari questioned of Darzenth.

Darzenth blinked. He sure hoped the girl had meant the widely known cocktail.
"Too sweet for me," the mercenary answered, and set to work on the cap of his bottle. He often wondered if the makers of this ale had designed the caps as a system to ensure that you could only drink so much...

"Oh," Ari nodded. "Do you want help with that?" he questioned, pointing at the cap.

Darzenth shook his head, as he finally managed to get a metal loop over the glass ridge that was simply too big. He had seen many a bottle smashed in frustration before. He was proud to say he could open a bottle in a third of the time of a first-time drinker.
The unique scent of the near-legendary drink broke free, and he smiled. "It's half the fun," he commented before taking a long drink from the bottle.
