Heather nodded. "Yes, it was fortunate. Thankfully those men were indecisive in what to do with me, which allowed you time to rescue me." Heather's face clouded over as memories of the bandit's arguements came up. "If they had known I was a Princess, they would have treated me a bit better. At least until they found ut no one would pay the ransom."

"I wouldn't have counted on it..." He said, in a very grim tone. "We have to make sure we stay out of their way, I don't want them getting a hold of you again, they will probably be a lot more decisive next time...But don't worry, I'll protect you."

"Yeah, they certainly would be decisive. Thanks," Heather said in a steady and grateful tone. Heather still blanched at what those bandits would do to her if they ever caught up with them again.

After walking for a while, they had gone considerably higher up the mountain. From here they could see the path hey had been travelling on, and on it were brown antlike dots, that could very well be, the bandits. Braedon pointed down at them. "Look, I think they are following us..."

Heather looked at the way they had come. Seeing no marks left behind, she commented, "They must have a tracker, as we left no trail. At the rate they are travelling, we will have to either continue on until they break for camp or hide. I don't think they will break for camp though," Heather said in a nervous tone.

He heard the nervousness in her voice, and gave her a reassuring smile. "Well, I do happen to know that there is a large, and unexplored cave not far from here, we could hide in there. I doubt they will ever find us, even if they found it to look."

Braedon led them to the cave entrance, and went inside. But not before lighting a small lantern.
The way was dimly lit, but bright enough for them to see. Braedon had to be careful not to get them lost.

Heather took stock of her surroundings. An unfamiliar smell filled the cave. It wasn't offensive, just different.

"You notice that smell?" He asked her as they moved on.

"Yeah. It doesn't stink, but it is permeating."

"I think it comes from a strange type of mushroom that grows in here..." Bradon said. Pointing to a small cluster, barely visible on the wall.

Heather moved closer to the mushrooms on the cave. Sure enough, the smell matched the mushrooms. "ewwww," Heather said. "Yeah, it IS the mushrooms."

Braedon couldn't help but let out a laugh. "Yep, they are probably poisonous too, so be careful."
