At first glance, the creature which attacked Braedon looked like a dog. Seeing the many eyes and claws the dog had, she took her pack off and swung it at the dog to dislodge it off Braedon. Her pack was very heavy. She was used to carrying heavy packs and normally carried this pack with ease.

The 'dog' jumped out of the way, and made a highl 'chirup' noise, and ran around in a couple of circles.
It went up to Heather, bouncing up and down, it made another half chirp, half bark noise.

Okami heard the strange noises up ahead. As carefully as one would stalk prey, the wolf crawled forward.

Heather raised her eyebrows and said to Braedon, "that 'dog' reminds me of the do-do bird"

Braedon stood up, and eyed the curious creature.
It brushed against his leg, and chirpbarked happily.
"Errr...."Braedon started.
"It just freaks me out..."

Heather observed the 'dog' 's antics and almost laughed. "I agree."

"I sure hope thats not what those mushrooms did to a regular dog..." He said, wincing as the peppy creature blinked 30 eyes at once.

"In that case, then perhaps we should not stay in the cave for too long. There might be side effects."

"Yeah, let's try and find a part of the cave without the mushrooms, and stay there for a while. Till we know the bandits have gone." He suggested.
He moved off down the tunnel. The 'dog' followed on his heels/

Okami had reached the room of mushrooms. The wolf sneezed at the smell. Still she saw the trail going through the cavern. This was getting stranger and stranger. No animal that was healthy would purposefully go through that.

Heather shook her head at teh 'dog'. Eventually they came to a part of the cave that was not covered with the mushrooms. She took the cloth away from her mouth and dropped it to the floor. Strangely enought, the mushrooms didn't affecte the air overe here. The cloth had worked well. Seeing some faint powder on the hand that had held the cloth to her mouth, she brushed the powder off. Then Heather took some matches from the pack and then proceeded to burn the cloth. Then she turned to Braedon, "do you want me to burn your cloth as well? I have more for when we come back."

Okami paced back and forth for a moment trying to decide what to do. In all truth there wasn't any point in risking her own life just to find out what was mad enough to go through the mushrooms.
Just as she had decided that, she heard voices coming from the entrance to the tunnels.

"Yeah, sure" He said, passing it to her, and rubbed some powder off his own hands.
"Be careful." He suggested.

Heather took the cloth and dropped it to the ground. Then she lit a match and held it near the cloth until it started burning. When it was nothing but ash she turned to Braedon again.

Okami could smell more things coming down the tunnel after her. Something in the scents told her that the wolf didn't want to meet whatever was causing it.
