"I know what it is," Rimmer stated. His arms were cross, much like the Cobra's. "It's the widget you pulled from your pocket. The thing that no body knows about."

Vex shook his head. "This is a Bioluminary Oscillator." He started. "It is a bio-laser, which means its a living thing, with the ability to track and destroy enemies. The laser is a dense stream of highly-charged energy, with pursuit speeds that make evasion all but impossible." He told them, as he twirled the device in his hand. "Of course this is just the unit. The core. It needs the rest built before it will work." He closed it, and put it back in his pocket. "It's because of me, that these are not the Yu's new assault weapon. I'm an agent for the YRA. I stole this prototype, and destroyed the data, and all backups." He informed them. "And this..." He said, moving his head to the side, and exposing the cerebral port. "Was a necessary piece of equipment for the aforementioned mission."
"Any questions?"

Elizabeth listened and watched warily. She was slightly startled by the man's revelation, but she kept it masked to only slightly raised eyebrows.
Still she kept silent.

Cobra was on her feet. The last thing she wanted was a Government offical on her turf. "Out..." she hissed. "While you still have all limbs still attached... and if you're lucky, you might make it past the bruisers at the door... If you want to live, get the hell out of here." Her eyes were as flat as a Yu's, empty, emotionless, even though she must have been furious.

"Right, let's go," said Rimmer. He wouldn't sit around while some woman who could kill you in a thousand ways in about... maybe, half a minute, made threats.
He made a beeline for the door, which he can do quickly. But he made the mistake of not paying attention. So he tripped on a stray wire and fell onto Vex, tackling him to the ground.

Vex rolled out from under the strange man, and stood up. "It's not as easy as that, I don't know if you've noticed, but there are a LOT of Yu about on the streets tonight. And I'm sure you realise, if I'm caught, the Yu get their hands on this...." He showed them the Bioluminary Oscillator again. "If that alone isn't reward enough for my protection, I'm sure you would be interested in something we could offer." He closed the Shields on the device, and put it back in his pocket.

"If you're dead by my hands or the hands of those under me, I don't have to worry, now do I?" she asked, that strange, flat look to her eyes. "My employees are loyal to me, and won't question my orders. Your choice remains, go or die."

Elizabeth could feel something building in her mind. She had to get out of there. That strange magnet thing was going to happen.
It looked like this woman wasn't going to be helpful and she would definately kill them if her computers got wiped. Stiffly Elizabeth turned to the door.

Rimmer clambered up to his feet and watched as Lizzy brushed passed him and walked shakily to the door. Rimmer turned heel. "What's wrong with her?" he asked particularly to no one.

Elizabeth pushed her way back to the main floor again. She hoped that by putting distance between her and the computers, nothing would happen to them. If she ws ever to get the chip, she would need the help of someone here.
Suddenly she was jostled by a very excited drunk and blacked out. When that happened a invisible wave of force spread out from her, causing every bit of metal in the ground floor area to jerk about. One burst headed straight upstairs, but wasn't quite strong enought to affect the monitors. Instead it focused on the next thing availible.

"What if I were to-" Vex stopped in mid sentence, and his face contorted in agony, he grabbed at his port, then fell limp, crashing to the floor unconscious. A small red light blinked on the port.

Rimmer watched with eyes wide as dinner plates as Vex danced madly like a puppet whose strings been yanked. Then rather suddenly the confused Mr. Rimmer heard a thud on the floor, plug set to blinking.
"What the smeg did you do?" throwing up his hands in the atrocity, he stared at the body a while...
Whooo, no blood. "But you killed him!" Rimmer couldn't stand dead things. He did something you would expect from a man like him, down to the very letter that made the whole cherade a kin to idiocy.
He ran around in circles, screaming and yelling that some evil invisible treachery was here. Some apocalyptic force that would not only kill him, but everyone. "No one is safe!! No one is safe!!!"
The guards below didn't know what more to be afraid of: the quaking ground, or the fact that windows might burst.
And the Cobra would be wishing forever that she didn't know how many octaves past soprano Rimmer's voice couls attain.

"Be silent!" Cobra bellowed. She glared at Vex in an unfriendly manner. If he was dead, it was no sweat off of her brow, and she couldn't be blamed. Most likely they'd just peg him on the Hunter. Casting a cold glare at Rimmer, she checked Vex's vitals, not sure which end of the spectrum would be considered a positive reading.

The Cobra's bellow was one that could cease the moans of the dead. Rimmer's mind had filed away that he didn't want to hear it again.
At the very start of the "growl" he'd already stumbled...
A weak, "Yes, ma'am" was spat out as he fell on the floor. He scrambled about, trying to work his way into a sitting position.
AH! There was something next to him!
...
Oh, it was his poor glock. He fumbled it nervously back into his suitcoat pocket luckily while the Cobra wasn't paying much attention. Then he resigned to twittling his thumbs.
"Is h-he al-al-right-t?"

'Not what I need now. This had to happen right when I'm in a room full of drunks. I hope I'm not out for too long. I'm getting stepped on.' Elizabeth grumbled as she looked around.
