Suibu gulped and took the snowboard, watching the man walk off. She tucked the piece of wood under her arm, turned and looked at the catboy. "What's your problem?"

"My problem? I have no problem." Said Hunter, defensive as ever. He shivered in the cold and wrapped his tail around him. "I was just waiting here and you two showed up, or rather, snowed down." He said with a smirk.

"Hey-" She pointed up at him with a smart-alik remark on her lips but stiffled them with obvious difficulty. "You know what? Goodbye." She stalked off after the man, muttering about the damned Gods of Lightning when low-and-behold, lightning struck, not ten feet from where she was standing. She turned on her heel, mouth agpe and eyes wide as saucers. "Oooookay, my apoligies big guy, doing a good job up there don't stop," she said in one breath. A loud crack of thunder rang out and she flinched. She hated thunder. She began walking the other way. There was no way she could make it back to the settlement in time. Best to find a wayward pine and settle in.

Shadrak snorted, "OY! hold your horses mate!!" he yelled at the sky, whereupon lightening smacked down on him. He disappeared in the column of light for a moment. When he reappeared he seemed unharmed and unruffled. He blew a stray strand of ebony-black hair out of his eyes, swirled his arm and threw a slash of jagged lightning back up. Then grinned sardonically.

Hunter lept from the tree, he didn't want to be anywhere high up with lightning flashing. He ran forward and stopped dead when he saw what the black haired man had done. Oh... so these two have elemental powers He told himself. He looked back at the girl, she was earth he was pretty sure. He wondered if she could be hurt by the lightning, and was, for a breif moment, worried, then he shook it off, trying to ignore the guilty feeling by reminding himself that she hadn't been all that kind to him anyways... still. "HEY!"

Suibu heard the man shout and turned around just in time to see him shoot lightning back up into the sky. She mouthed only one word; wow. The catboy jumped down from his perch in the tree. "Hey!" he yelled. "What?!" this guy was annoying, but in all fairness she admitted to herself, she did have a tendency to be cranky when she was caught doing something she - well - didn't want to be caught in.

Shadrak got about ten zaps back, and grinned abashedly. He ran for where the other two were, his hair was standing on end at this point... little phased a dragon, but really, this was ridiculous. "It hates me!" he cried and tryed to flatten his hair.

"There is a cave... trees have a habit of catching on fire but stone is virtuable safe." He muttered. Then, without waiting for a responce from them, he leapt up over the bushes and on to a hidden trail. His tail whipped behind him as he ran, not liking the approching storm at all.

Suibu stared at the man for a moment, then leapt over the bush after the catboy, running after him like the wind. She had no plans what-so-ever of being caught in this storm. "Oy! Wait!"

Hunter slowed his pace a bit, sniffing the air, wearily. He stopped and froze, staring in one direction for a minute and then took off again, he did this several times before, finnaly, he approched the side of the mountain and climed a large mound of snow pilled against it and started digging.

Shadrak leapt after them with feline grace, slithering between and around obstacles almost snake-like. He grinned, watching the action of Hunter's tail...and getting the rather inhuman wish to bat at it as it swung back and forth.

Hunter shivered and kept pawing at the snow till he made a small opening, then he slid through into the cave he had found a few days ago. The snow had blocked the enterence, but once you squeezed in the cave was HUGE and tall! He could still see fine in the limited light, and searched around for the firewood he had dried the other day, hoping it had remained dry.

Suibu followed the trail as best she could, but the speed of the cat-man was to fast even for her skills. She lost sight of him and slowed down, leaning against a tree to catch her breath. "Wow, he's fast," she said to herself. The wind picked up, heralding the oncoming of the storm. If she didn't find shelter soon, she realized, she'd get caught in this storm. She started down the trail, following the deep imprints of the cat-man and stopped. She couldn't see the prints! She frowned and bent down blowing hard on the snow. It flew away, revealing a dim outline of a footprint. She continued on along the trail, stopping every few feet to blow on the snow. She came to a fork in the trail and knelt down again, blowing on the snow, but this time no print showed! She cursed and stood up, looking around as she pulled her wolves' fur cloak closer around her. She had to find shelter soon! She looked down each path, first one, then the other, pulled her cloak even tighter around her and went left. She trudged along down the trail, brushing her long black hair out her face, her green eyes searching left and right for any sign of recent passage. But she saw none and decided to go further, trusting to luck. Luck, it seemed though, was not on her side. She came around another bend, then another. Still no sign of the cat-man nor the man she had barreled down. She came to another fork. Once again, she looked left then right. But this time, she saw something. Down the left trail, a branch was broken in half. A smile bloomed on her face as she hurried forward to inspect it. Then she saw it. Wolf tracks. And heard them. A deep growl eminated from the woods to her right. She froze and slowly looked to her right. A wolf looked at her hungrily from the depths of the snow. She heard a branch brak to her left, and then another behind her. She stared hard the wolf in her sights, then relaxed and emptied her mind like her training taught. Her body relaxed completely, her shoulders slumping and her face becoming blank. She didn't even think. She just stared at the wolf blankly. The wolf stared back at her, seemingly confused for a moment, then shook its' head and snarled. To her left, one came out of the woods and snarled too, the third barking at her viciously. Screw it, she thought, this wasn't working. She took off, running as fast a the snow drifts would allow her. Luckily, the wolves couldn't go that fast either. She hopped along, cursing the thickness of the snow. She glanced back and supressed a scream. The wolves were closer! She turned around and worked double time. The trail came to a halt at the edge of a small snow covered clearing. On the other side, her keen eyes noticed something amiss. Her eyes widened. Boot tracks! The snow wasn't as thick here, and she took off in full flight, the wolves in hot persuit. She got about half way through the clearing when a loud crack stopped her in her tracks. She froze, not moving, not even breathing. Another crack sounded, then another and suddenly her feet felt wet. She looked to her left and right. The "clearing" went on both ways. Dread crept up her spine. This wasn't a clearing, it was a frozen river! And with those wolves coming out, she had the feeling she was going to be swimming soon.

Shadrak saw the cat-man crawl into the snow and marked the hollow. Moments before he followed he stopped, frowned and looked around, hadn't there been....a girl? He looked back, but saw no sign of her. Marking the cave entrance with a magical sigil so he wouldn't lose it, he went back up the way a bit, frowning. The whistling wind sounded almost like someone screaming, but not quite. The blowing wind and snow had obliviated their tracks...he knew where the cave was...but he didn't remember quite the way they'd come.

Hunter sniffed the air and whimpered. Dogs, or rather wolves were around. And what was worse, he had lost the two people who could have helped him. He couldn't start a fire despite his best efforts, and thought maybe the man could do that, and the girl had the power of the earth, he thought maybe she could help find some dry wood. But mostly, as painful as it was for him to admit, he needed them because he had never been out in the wild before, not in this land, and not with these animals. He had allways been able to talk with them, but wolves still frightened him. He knew a simgle wolf was harmless, but a pack... a pack was something he wasn't willing to deal with, and they were dogs, they wouldn't care that he could speak to them, they would see a cat and attack. He needed the girl and that man. But... they hadn't followed.... had he gone to fast? Pulling all his courage togeather he leapt through the small opening he had created in the snow, freeing himself from the cave and sniffed, he ran to the right, shifting futher into his jaguar form till he could run on four legs, much faster. He lept over a snow pile and stoped as he nearly ran into the man. "AH!!" He yelped, he took in a quick breath and caught the sent of the wolves... and the girl
