Shadrak was slinking among the trees, attempting to find some trace of their path when he saw the cat ((ok, should I use man or boy?)) sniffing in a direction and looking concerned. Shadrak glided up beside him, "Soooo, where'd she go?" he asked, totally oblivious to the wolves...as he didn't really take any sort of wildlife as a threat. Little could threaten a dragon after all...
ooc: why do I get the feeling that all of my posts today have been horribly skewed and messed up?

She watched in terror as the wolves continued their ominous advance toward her, the water slowly rising to her ankles. Suddenly a loud crack resounded around them. The wolves stopped growling and stood up, their ears coming up too as they looked about. The snow between her and the wolves started sinking, the ice shuddering as it was stretched to its' limits and beyond. The ice had cracked, and it was braking up! The wolves backed up a bit, looking around before turning and fleeing back to the bank. Suibu did too, only she had no intention of going to the same side as the wolves. She looked around and started backing up, putting one foot behind the other. The cracks were coming from all around her now, thewater rising at an incredible rate as her weight pulled the ice under. Slowness, she decided, was what was going to kill her in this instance, so she spun around and too off at a dead run toward the opposite shore. Her heels splashed in the water, her breath coming in short gasps and her coat and cloak flying out behind her. Almost there, he was almost there! Suddenly, her feet slipped out from under her. The next few seconds happened in slow motion for her. Her heart jumped into her throat as she figured out she'd slipped on some ice - obviously. But what scared her the most was what she realized in that one second before she hit the ice. At the rate and speed she was falling, she would go through the ice, and that's exactly what she did.

OCC: Boy probably.. he's only 13.
Hunter sniffed. "She went that way, she's close." Hunter said, and then he ran towards the new sound, a sound he knew could not be good. The sound of ice breaking. He could smeel the wolves, they were running away from the ice, something HAD to be wrong. As he ran he would constantly look back to make sure the man was still behind him. His pace was agonizingly slow to him, but he wasn't sure why he should be in a hurry, till he saw the wolves watching what appeared to be a clear plain, but smelt like water and mud, and ice. He stoped, eyes on the wolves as his hears determined that the trashing was being caused by something in the clearing. He sniffed and shuddered, looking back at the man. "How long can an earth element survive in ice?"

ooc: Suibu isn't exactly an Earth Elemental, she's human, who can work with nature as a sentient being.
The icy cold water swirled around her submerged body and she instinctively - if jerkily - lunged for the surface. She grabbed the edge of the ice and pulled herself up, gasping for air. Her teeth instantly started to chatter, her breath coming in short, quick gasps as she scrambled for a better hold. Two feet away a stone that had stuck up above the surface of the water had frozen, with jagged patches of ice covering it. She reached forward, stretching her arm as far as she could and grabbed the rock, the shards of ice digging into her flesh. She took as large as breath as she could muster and hauled with all her strength, coming halfway out of the water. Her breath came in short gasps, the cold air freezing in her lungs. She put one stiff leg up onto the ice, then the other. So consumed was she with her pain that she didn't notice the sounds of cracking ice around her once again. Instead, she curled up into a ball. Cold... she was so cold...

ooc: awwwww!!! poww beby!!! awk! *smacks the sappy-muse*
bic: Shadrak frowned when they came out in the clearing. His eyes widened when he saw the predicament. "How long can an earth element survive in ice?" Shadrak grimaced, "No longer than a normal human...she's an elemental? ....what's an elemental?" HE shrugged, more importantly, the issue at hand. Shadrak sighed. He ran some distance from the catboy and morphed dragon. Black scales covered his body as it stretched and elongated, finally ending in a black, whipping tail. He stretched his obsidian wings and flew over the ice-bound girl. He snatched her up just as she started to slide beneath the ice again. He brought her to the shore, lay her down and morphed back to black-cloaked man. He knelt by her and raised an eyebrow while tilting his head to the side. He knew little of human biology, but he was certain she wasn't supposed to have a light covering of ice. "Erm....?" Shadrak muttered.

Her body was relaxed, the cold fading to the back of her mind. She was so sleepy, her eye lids becoming heavier and heavier. A part of her mind told her she shouldn't go to sleep, should get up and move, try and find the strange men, but she didn't understand why. She was just tired, so tired. From somewhere far away, she heard a slow, rhythmic whoosh whoosh. She felt the ice break and bend underneath her and the water start to rise over her legs. Then they were cold, more so then the rest of her body. Pressure under her head. She realized she was laying on her side. Her eyes closed and white light sourrounded her, a ringing in her ears coming with it.

ooc: Sorry... I knew she was human, for some reason Earth Element is what I typed... seems like something Hunter would say, but I do appologize.
bic: Hunter was slightly startled that the black cloaked man had just turned into a dragon, yes, and he wa ssurprised that said dragon had managed to save the girl without falling through the ice. He was not surprised that the wolves had taken off at the sight of the dragon. He bounded through the snow over to where the two strangers were and looked down at the girl, she was not in good shape, she was turning blue. "She's to cold. She'll die." He whimpered. He pawed the snowy ground and curled his tail around him. "If you can carry her, I'll show you the way back to the cave."

Shadrak frowned and attempted to melt some of the ice on her with hand-held magic and hoping he wasn't scorching her too bad. "If you can carry her, I'll show you the way back to the cave." Shadrak nodded and bundled her up a bit with his cloak. He carried her as if she weighed nothing..well..to him she did.

Hunter bound through the snow, stopping to sniff the air every now and then and to look back to make sure the man had no trouble following him. Hunter ws overly cautiouse and he knew it, he knew he souldn't be taking so long. He would run at a dead sprint for a few fee thten stops and listen and sniff the air only to go darting off again. When he finnaly got sent of the ash in the cave he took off, sprinting till he reached it and then digging as fast as he could to make enough room for the man and girl to slide in. Then he sat, shivering by the enterence and waited, ears perked up, waiting to make sure the man could follow him.

Shadrak saw his magic sigil burning before the catboy made it to the cave. He'd kept up well with him...for all the randomness of his speed and direction.
He slid into the hole in the cave, scraping a little snow off the sides on his way in. He looked around, mesmerized by the largeness of the inside. He lay the girl down in a large alcove, and looked around for a good place to start a fire.

Shadrak sighed, shrugged and lit a fire in the alcove near the girl with a wave of his hand. It gave off enough heat to fill the cave, but you could pass your hand through it unhurt. Shadrak turned to the catboy, "Sooooo...is she still alive?" he wondered.

Hunter got up and padded over to the girl. He kneels down, listening for a heartbeat.

A slow, rhythmic beat met his keen ears. She was alive, although barely. Her breath was low and rhythmic like her heart until she felt the brush of soft fur on her breast. The bright light and the ringing subsided, the light dancing now and the ringing turning to a crackling sound. She moaned softly. Fur... Crackling... The woves - "The ice!" She jerked up, straining every muscle in her body as she did so. Wait - her eyes may have been blurry, but this didn't look like the clearing! "Where am I?" her voice quivered, and suddenly she realized she was freezing.
