Heather turned off her light and very quietly put it in her pack. She stood motionless and silent.

"Ah dun understand why's the boss wants all this stuff fer anyway."
"I hears he's sellin' 'em to some big wig on teh Outside."

Standing still, Heather could also hear the conversation. At the same time, her eyes were adjusting to the dark.
"prolly for some rich brat too"
"we should probably be getting back to work, so the boss won have anuther reason to be mad at us."
Heather quickly moved to be as close to the wall as possible. She almost stumbled, but did not cry out when she found that there was a bit of a nook, like a closet with no door. There was enough room for everybody too.

Braedon stumbled into Heather's alcove, and pulled Dog with him.

Okami backed into the alcove as well. <If they come too close,> the wolf said only to Braedon, Heather and Dog, <I will try to scare them off.>

Heather stood on the balls of her feet, ready to defend herself. However this proved unnecessary as when the door opened, the feet belonging to the voices headed further inside the tunnel. When footfalls could no longer be heard, Heather let go of a breath she did not know she had been keeping. Then she made a motion that they should 'investigate' the room.

Braedon moved out from the alcove, and peered into the room. Finding it empty, of people at least, he qucikly and silently slipped into the room.
Finding it was indded empty of people. He signalled to the others that it was clear.

Okami came up beside Braedon silently, sniffing the air in the tunnel. <There is a branching a little further down the tunnel. I think our friends when down that way.>

When they came to the branching, Heather asked Okami which way was the most inhabited.

Okami nodded towards the right hand passage.
<There is a stronger smell of bodies down that way>

"Then let's go this way." Braedon said, and headed down the less populated fork.

As they walked through the left hand corridor, the light slowly grew dimmer, almost as if someone meant for someone to bump into something hidden. The dimming light was rather unnoticable, however, because the dimming of light was with such a small degree as one went on.

Braedon followed, he was started when he noticed how little he could see all of a sudden.

Okami watched carefully where she was going. Her night-sight was very good.

"It's getting hard to see..." Braedon pointed out.
