Rainlight nodded, "Rest. We will keep a watch."

He didn't have to be told twice, he dozed into a deep exhausted sleep.

Rith also returned to her sand-wallow to resume her nap. The firelizards hunted in the shallow waters. Rainlight went back to the mending. She hummed softly as she worked on one of the leather riding straps.

He woke up to her humming. He was about to ask her what song it was, but realised that the dragon was asleep.

Rainlight finished with the strap and sighed. The leather was getting a little thin. She would need to find a tanner some place.
She set the riding harness to the side and got up, stretching.

The man fell back into a doze as she stretched, after silently watching her work with the leather for some time.
He suddenly round himself in one of the towns back on his homeworld. He had left the dragon back at the camp so as not to alarm the people there, or get unwanted atention. Everyone knew of the dragon rider, but few new his face.
He was at a leatherworker's shop. Well, something like that. In his world, the monsters that terrorised the humans were also a natural resource. Their armoured shells, their luminescant body fluids, their biomechanical systems, and their organs were all harvested to be made into useful things.
He was there to get his armoured chestplate repaired, the monster's shell on it had broken. The shell was able to absorb laser shots, and was a valuable piece of equipment, so of course he needed it repaired.
He was just trying it on when the screams started. He ran out of the shop. And was horrified by what he saw. An entire swarm of monsters were coming over the town wall. Such attacks were rare.
He pulled out his gun, and was ready to defend himself. he turned around in time to spot a monster towering over him. He fell back, avoiding a swipe from its powerful claws. He tried firing at it, but the gun clicked, powerless....
"No!" He mumered in his sleep, gasping, and rolling around, obviously having a nightmare.
Another place, dark this time. He was sitting in a chair, his hands behind his back, tied. His whole body ached, and his head was bowed in exhaustion
There were footsteps, a tall man wereing an imperial officer's uniform, the leather boots were all that he could focus on. He came to a stop, and turned to face him. "Mi et Rebellis creteus!?" He damanded
Elaafis really had no idea. He has been caught sneaking into their base, but it was for a far different reason than they believed.
Elaafis simply ignored the man, saying nothing. What could he say... More pain was inevitable...
At his lack of response, the officer nodded to an unseen guard behind him. Who then approaced, and used an evcavated ancient torure device on him. Pain exploded through him and he screamed in agony. Echoing down the corridors of the prison ship, the scream made even the most hardened guards grimace.
He gave a muffled scream as he slept, but did not awaken. Just continued to make sounds of fear and pain, as memmories invisible to the outside world played out in his mind.

Rainlight looked over to the man as he slept. From the look of it, his dreams weren't pleasent to say the least. Larie hovered by Rainlight's shoulder, humming worriedly. The elf held out her arm to the firelizard and the little queen landed daintily on it.
She scratched Larie under the chin to sooth her as she went over to the man. He didn't look like he was going to get any rest that way. Gently she shook Elaafis' shoulder.

He woke with a start, gasping and shuffling backwards away from her. Terror in his eyes for a moment. He soon looked around and seemed to realise where he was. He eventually started to calm down

"Easy." the elf said soothingly, even though he wouldn't know what she was saying. "You were having nightmares."
Larie cheeped softly, her eyes a blue-green swirl.

Though he didn't know what she was saying, the soothing tone was unmistakable.
He nodded to her, assuring her he was okay.

Rith opened on great whirling blue-green eye. She askes if you are all right? the dragon said to Elaafis.
