Andrew had fallen back asleep in Hanny's arms, so she placed him on the bed next to her sleeping daughter. There was nothing wrong with her, she knew, but it still bothered her tha Lani would not wake.
Realizing that her children were safely under her eye, she took up a place at the door, listening through the keyhole.

"There isn't much to tell. I don't know the person who hired me. All contact was though unsigned messages. However, I do know that who ever it is is higborn. A noble of some sort." Jan said.

Jan shruged. "But you don't want to be killing me just yet."

Largo narrowed his eyes at the woman. "And why not?" He asked evenly.

"Some one like me still has some use." she said calmly, ignoring the other woman's presence.

"And what use would we have for a hired knife?" Hanny spat. "Especially one who might turn around to finish the job?"

"You come in the night with the intent to kill, what else would you be?"
