Andrew, Largo and Hanny's second child (first son) is heir to the lands that belong to Hanny's father's family. When her grandmother died, she said that it must be passed to a male. none of her three sons had any male children: in fact, Hanny was the only grandchild. Now, Hanny's older Uncle is dieing, which means Andrew inherits the land. About three major parties are after the land, and will stop at nothing to get it, even if that means killing the baby boy.
It will get more specific later.

He watched as the sun began to set on the horizon, staining the pale blue sky with blood red and briliant gold.
He hoped that his message had reached Allihania. Many believed that she, the only living member of the ruling house of Candustine, had died at the age of thirteen, when Mirkwater was destroyed by pirates.
Nathan knew he was dying. He could feel the life draining from him every day. He had promised his mother that the family would not lose their lands after her death, but the only hope they had now was that Hanny had survived and brought forth a son.
His own days were numbered, and he could almost feel the cold and darkness closing in about him. his enemies, lesser families seeking to take his power once he died, seemed to circle him like vultures.

The Pride zoomed along just above the water. It was faster than it had ever been before, due mostly to having the engines' designer as the ship's engineer.
The high hills of the land they were approaching began to rise on the horizon, as if emerging out of the water.
A bright noon sun made the sea glitter gold.
At the wheel stood Largo LeGrange, he gave off the air of a man who was contented, as he made slight course adjustments.

Hanny was nervous. It had been twelve years since she had seen she had even seen Candustine, let alone set foot on it. She loaded little Andrew into the harness she wore on her front to keep her hands free, and decided to get some fresh air.
She found Tarn and Lani climbing in the rigging.
Lani was three years old, with golden hair and emrald eyes. Tarn, her adopted son, was almost thirteen himself, and an excellent climber.
Hanny looked up at the two of them in the rigging. She could see that Tarn was being careful with the girl, but she glared up at him saying, "Tarn, you know better. Bring Lani down this instant."
Tarn did as he was told, reluctantly. Hanny sent them back inside and went on a search for Largo.

Largo adjusted some controls so that the ship went higher as it left the water behind, and the shimmering golden sea turned to green.
He thought he saw Hanny walk passed one of the windows when he had bent down to adjust something, but he wasn't sure.

It felt good to have the wind on her face. She closed her eyes and sheilded Andrew from the chill with a small blanket she had brought with her. It might be a big ship, Hanny reasoned. But it won't be hard to find Largo later.

Largo guessed he had imagined that he had seen Hanny there, and called Braedon to take over for a while, while he went back to his and Hanny's room for some rest.

Hanny heard the door. "And where do you think you're going, Captain?"

Largo yawned, after the shock of seeing her there.
"Just for a bit of rest." He said.

"I just got up myself," she replied. "This little guy has been sleeping quite a bit, but he always seems awake at night. "Maybe you should talk to Braedon about taking the night shift and just sleeping during the day. The night life might be better for us."
True enough, there were bags beginning to form under her eyes, but between her apprehension and the baby, she could hardly get more than a few cat naps a day.

Largo noticed the signs of tiredness on her.
"Perhaps thats not such a bad idea. We might both get some much needed rest." He said, leaning over the baby and kissing her forehead.

"I can almost feel Candustine from here," she said. "I'm kind of worried about going back, too. I'm guessing I should look up some old relatives or something, but it's been so long."

Largo went around to the back of her and slipped his hards around her waist. He then nuzzled at her neck.
"It will be ok, don't worry. No matter what happens, remember, we're a family, your family. We'll always be here with you." He said, and kissed her neck.
