"Maybe she's just a well trained maid." Largo said in a sarcastic tone.

"I am not an assasin." Jan said shortly, ignoring the man's comment. "Or at least I didn't come here with the intent of killing anyone. What I am is little different from the women who walk the streets at night selling themselves. Only it's use of my weapons that are for sale, not my body."

"Your hand holds it, that makes you no less guilty, Sellsword." Hanny leaned in a little closer. "My son's life was threatened. Forgive me if I have difficulty seeing it any other way." Her tone carried no noticable sincerity. "Now what is your name?"

"You think I would -- could kill a child?" Jan asked scornfully, ignoring her question.

"There is no right price on the life of a child. I have enough honour for that." Jan said softly.

"I didn't come to kill anyone. My employer probably thought that's what he said, but a dead body only pays so much."

Jan took a deep breath and sighed quietly.
"I was going to take you. My employer would think I had killed you and hidden the body. Once I had gotten paid and the fuss had died down a bit I was going to ransom you back. I probably would have gotten at least the same amount I would have been paid for the job."

"Sorry to disapoint you, but with the boy left behind the King wouldn't care." Hanny looked at Largo. "And those that would have would never have gone along with ransome if the thought there was another way."
