Accepting all users, magic and nonmagic characters alike. ~~~~~~~
Virose stood in the alley behind the weapons shop with his head bowed and his arms folded. His dark purple hair fell over his lilac eyes and made him appear to be a much more daunting character than he truly was. He was a hero... or at least that was his job title. Truth be told he had followed his mentor around for the past five years and that was after graduating from the academy. He had never rescued a princess or saved the country. Now, on his own he doubted his skills and had broken his sword... in a fight he lost.
Young Virose was slipping from his potential. He had lost ground from the top of his class and the aspiring young warrior he was supposed to be. Now, at the age of twenty-three, he was lost. When the blacksmith in the shop finished his sword he figured he'd lay it down forever an try a new career... but what?
~~~ I don't really have any ideas for this except some kind of quest maybe... but know that Vinrose has very little faith left and will probably need to be pushed into things and thus certain characteristics are needed for that. I can make him younger if need be so he is easier to haul around.. i dunno...
Largo turned the corner into the alley, running at a fast pace. But his countenance was no that of a panicked man, but that of one on an important and required task. His armour glinting as it caught the moonlight.
The alley was dark, however, and he couldn't help but bump the other man aside slightly as he passed. There was no time for apologies though. He simply looked back at the man as he continued on, then looked onward again, making his way quickly into the tavern across the way from the weapon shop.
OOC: kinda got an idea!
OOC: Well, i don't know where you're going with this, but i'm game.
Virose glared after the man. "Thanks a lot, idiot. As if my day hadn't been bad enough," he grumbled. His eyes flickered back to the 'closed' sign on the weapons shop and he groaned. The people that beat him had also taken his money. He as fairly good at slide of hand and had manage to- er- liberate some, but only to get the sword fixed.
A few minutes later, the man came out of the tavern. "Damn!" he exclaimed impatiently. The tavern was a popular hangout for mercenaries. It was convenient, as it was near the weapon shop. However, very few were there tonight, and he had been unable to hire any. Even with more than generous pay.
He spotted the man still standing in the alley in front of him. His appearance certainly wasn't that of a beggar. He may be a thief, but that wouldn't explain why he was so badly hidden. Perhaps he was drunk? But perhaps he was also a mercenary.
"You there!" Largo called from near the tavern doorway.
Virose turned his head as he figured he was probably the only one out so late anyway. He took in the man and raised an eyebrow. It was the idiot from before.
"Yeah what?!" he snapped back angrily.
"You a mercenary?" He asked nonchalantly, but loud enough to be heard clearly across the street. Though his voice betrayed no emotion, he hoped this man was. Even if he was a little rude.
Unbelievable. "Not really," he mumbled coldly. Not realy caring if he was heard or not.
Largo did not show disappointment, and instead held up a small bag and shook it. The jingle of coins was unmistakable, even from across the street.
"Might you be looking for work all the same?" He asked, his tone businesslike.
Virose stared at him. He could use the money, but he'd pretty much gave up with that life. When said life starts kicking you in the crotch it's best you leave it alone. ...Still... if there was nothing his failures had tought him it was the more underground side of life. Thus he replied, "I'm expensive."
"You best be worth it," the man across the street warned cooly, and held out the bag in a clear motion for the man to come over to take it. "We haven't time to waste."
Virose trottes across the street to take the bag, it was better than sleeping in an alley until the smith woke up. "Um, my sword is in there," he explained, pointing at the shop.
