Soldimon looked back and saw the struggle leeloo was having, he thought it best to go back and help. He turned round his horse and quickly made it run back to her. He had a funny way with animals. He looked at where she was kicking her heels.
After closer inspection he noticed a small scar where she was kicking, maybe it hurt the horse when someone kicked there. He said "Try kicking here instead." He pointed about 3 inches behind where she was kicking.

Virose thought all this nonsense was irritating, he galloped back and slapped the horse hard on the butt. His own steed gave a scream of encuragment, as if it were a drill sergant comanding troops into battle. Surely there was no time for pleasanties to pansy horses, it was time to go!

Leeloo kicked at the same time as Virose smacked the rental's flank. The horse lunged forward in a frenzy and she gave a shrill squeal.
"HEEELP!"
But no one did, and all she could do was cling on. Wide-eyed and with her hair in wild disarray, she finally caught up to the others.
"Can we go a little slower?" she asked pleadingly.

Largo gave a sigh. "No, we can't," he said simply. He was glad that the village was not much further. He would hate to spend days with these people.
He sped up, eager for some action, and also to cut short the time he had to spend with this weird group.

Virose did not need to kick is horse as its lust for battle drove it onward, easily driving it to the front of the group and left Virose with nothing to do but hold on and dread the battle, already he could see flames in the distance.

Jan snorted as Leeloo's horse finally galloped up to them. She didn't say anything though.
She looked ahead to the redish light in the sky supposedly over the village they were riding to. Personally she didn't think there would be much left by the time they reached it. Whatever had hit would be long gone now. Still she urged her horse into a mild gallop. Even with the emphis on speed they didn't want to arrive with their horses in no condition to battle.

Soldimon horse was trotting along next to Largo's. "So Largo, if watever caused all this should still be there, what is the attack plan?"

Virose did not wait to hear an attack plan. Truth was that he knew he was probably charging off to his death and yet he didn't care. He was highly skilled in failure so he readied his blade and spurred his horse. It leaped over a low, inflamed wall and burst through the fire to emerge into the battle. The chaos around him was too great to stop for planning and too chaotic for any plan to work anyway. Besides, he was a warrior and ready to do his part.
Every building in sight was on fire and horsed men were rounding up survivors for their own cruel purposes. In the smoky darkness they did not seem to notice the young hero descend upon them. He couldn't explain it but seeing the suffering sparked a part of him he had almost forgotten and every attack came perfectly and every movement was a well practiced dance. It was his greatest battle, and that made him sure it would be his last though he did not care as he was only concerned for the people.
It was the only thing he had ever liked about his job. He did not like the sword, the glory, the battle... He only cared for that which he fought for; the people.

Largo quickly followed in, circling to the north side of the town and attacking from that side. The attackers were clad in a strange type of dark amour. It hid their faces and the rest of their bodies, but while looking impenetrable, was actually rather weak. He pierced it easily with his sword.
They dropped easily around him, left and right. He cut through the forces like a large ship cutting through a thin sheet of ice. Barely slowing him down.
But then he felt an arrow come dangerously close to slicing his ear, and he glanced behind him.
What the hell?
There were the enemy soldiers, he could see only one or two on the ground from his attack. It was like those he had just stabbed in the chest, and sliced in the weak point of the neck had got right back up again...
He should have known this felt too easy. Now he was surrounded. Like a large ship that had set anchor in the ice, and been trapped.

Leeloo had never been much of a lover, but she definitely wasn't a fighter. The heat of conflict was overwhelming to her -- and she couldn't very easily treat her own injuries afterwards, which was her forte. No, she preferred to stay away as best as she could. Instead, she skirted cautiously around the edges of the fight until she came to a small, safe-looking glade a couple of hundred paces from the perimeter of the burning village. If her companions began to die, she would be forced to flee, and she wanted a good head start; it was always better to be a coward than to be dead, after all.
Without dismounting, the priestess prepared the medicines that Largo had hired her for. She then bowed her head and said a long prayer. There wasn't anything else she could do until it was over.

Jan spurred her gelding into the fight, couching her glaive under her arm like a lance. It's razor sharp blade flashing once in the light from the burning buildings. She charged down one footsoldier, slashing through the arm joint in his armour. Jan kept her legs clamped tightly around the sides of her horse as it spun to avoid another soldier.
Quickly, everything else around her faded except for the enemy and the fight. This was what she had trained for and this is what she was good at. She imursed herself in the battle, hardly aware of outside infulences. Dealing her attacks and avoiding ones made by the enemy in front of her. She rose and fell as her horse reared, kicking with it's front hooves as well as lashing out with it's back.

Virose stoppe, watching the enemy get up and charged towards Largo. "What the hell are they?!"

Largo looked around, they were closing in like a flood. Even one with its legs missing was crawling toward them.
"They can't be human..." Largo decided, it was all he could be sure of, as he stabbed another in it's weak chest plate and then kicked him/her/it back into a larger group, knocking them all down like glass bottles.
He could see only a few villagers left. A number of the armour-clad enemies were keeping them under guard, and others seemed to be scooping up bodies...

"You think?" Virose intoned sarcasticaly as he shoved his sword into the neck of one off the assailants and kicked it in the torso to get the sword back.
